Looks yummy, right?! I can’t tell you what it is — yet.
But you’ll find out soon!
Back in September, I had the fortune of meeting Brian Carr, founder of Paleo Lifestyle Magazine. I chatted with Brian and learned a lot about his work at Paleo Lifestyle Magazine. We also established that I am squarely not paleo, but definitely ‘lean’ that way if that’s even a thing, lol!
According to Wikipedia, the contemporary Paleo diet consists mainly of fish, grass-fed pasture raised meats, eggs, vegetables, fruit, fungi, roots, and nuts. It excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, potatoes, refined salt, refined sugar, and processed oils. It’s based on the idea that human genetics have scarcely changed since the dawn of agriculture and modern humans are genetically adapted to the diet of our Paleo ancestors. Multiple studies of the diet have shown improved health outcomes and therapeutic nutritional benefits.
Brian started Paleo Lifestyle Magazine a couple of years ago to share his passion for Paleo. He shares recipes and brings readers the most up to date research and news “by way of interviews with industry leaders and informative articles and commentary.” I really enjoyed a recent post — Paleoizing International Cuisine — since so much of the Indian, Arab, and Mexican foods I cook traditionally include a variety of grains, legumes, and dairy. It’s helped me start looking at my recipes in a new light.
(Side note — because dairy is one category we’ve intentionally not cut out in our household, perhaps “primal” would be a more accurate description of us since it’s defined as paleo+dairy. Of course, we stick to raw dairy, but y’all already knew that!)
The neat news I wanted to share with y’all is that after mentioning Salam Mama to Brian, and sharing with him my vision for my work here, he was kind enough to offer me an opportunity to be published on the Paleo Lifestyle Magazine website and in the upcoming November newsletter — and I’m so excited!
You’ll DEFINITELY want to read my contribution (which brings us back to the picture up top — you know you’re curious!) as well as the rest of the awesome content! You’ll find informative pieces ranging from recipes, to Duck Dynasty, to yoga … yup, you read that right!
BUT only members of the Paleo Lifestyle Magazine mailing list will receive FREE access. So please head on over there to sign up (it’s FREE and all you enter is your email address) in order to receive the November issue for FREE! Oh, and did I mention it’s FREE?! 🙂
Whether you’re a Paleo newbie or a Paleo veteran, you’ll want in on this!
